• Hi,

I’m using this plugin and the user list + chat history only seem to work on secure https pages. I’ve disable the plugin “WordPress Https” which forces ssl in order to get the chat to work, I’ll have to find an alternative SSL plugin.

I was wondering if it’s possible for a future update to include a fix for this?

    Thanks!

  • This plugin has several bugs on the latest version that affects people who have upgraded from 2.0.4 you can refer to this forum https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-wordpress-https-ssl-plugin-broke-my-admin-area

I hope you get it ??

First thing that comes to my mind is that Quck Chat works correctly on pages using protocol and domain you’ve placed under Settings -> General -> WordPress Address (URL) on your admin dashboard. This is due to WordPress nonces security checks Quick Chat implements and it isn’t something I can change. This stops someone from other protocol or domain doing funny things using AJAX calls to your WordPress site. Also this plugin you’re talking about like Saulaiman said could bring additional bugs of it’s own but this alone is enough to make Quick Chat not work. You just can’t use your site with https and http at the same time without triggering nonces security. You can’t even use it with www. and without it at the same time. Security wise this is a good thing.

Woops @leenab You have tagged the WordPress HTTPS! I though you were talking about the WordPress SSL ??

Hi @sulaiman, no you are talking about the right plugin, I think it eventually got changed to what is now WordPress HTTPs SSL.

I saw your original post and I am having the same issues, the problem with the chat is being caused by the current and previous version of WordPress HTTPs. I used a different SSL plugin and the chat works fine so it’s definitely caused by the WordPress HTTPs SSL plugin.

I’ll have to keep looking for an alternative as all I need is for the login and register pages to be secure ??
