[Plugin: Quick Chat] high cpu usage on server

  • When I use quick chat in the side bar, the cpu usage on the server is very high. I am not sure if it is because it loads the whole chat every time you go to a new page. Can this be it?
    I tried putting it on a separate page using the short code and that seemed to reduce the cpu usage. We have a forum and people click on a lot of different page, so it is loaded many times by the same user.
    Is there any way to that the chat will not have to load every time you go to a new page or is there something that can be done the reduce the cpu usage of the chat?

    Yes sidebar and many users is perfect recipe for high cpu usage. This is because when QC is in the sidebar all users join all the time. What cpu usage down is increasing users and messages refresh timings, if you double the timings need approx half the cpu power. Also I advise that if you have many visitors you use in page chat room or at least make sidebar chat room visible only for logged in users. Good luck!
