Hi there, I love this plugin. It really simplifies the process for adding social sharing buttons functionality.

One small gripe is that I can’t hide the code from the_excerpt(). You’ve handily given the options of hiding from page types but I have a situation where both the_content and the_excerpt appear on a single post page.

I use the_excerpt in my sidebars to show the latest 5 posts. So when this appears on a single post page the buttons start to appear below each excerpt in the sidebar too.

I’ve taken a look at the js but I’m not sure how I can’t get it to append these buttons to the_content() only. Is there a quick hack you can suggest just for me ?? I’m currently just hiding them with css but I can feel the browser churning away with so much sharability going on in the bg.

    Thanks!

  • Hi kingofmycastle,
in the 2.4 new version of the plugin there’s an option to disable buttons on excerpts. Please try it and let us know if it’s ok for your website ??

Hi, thanks a lot for making these changes. My client demanded the ugly ‘share’ button pop-up thingy instead so I had to use another plugin.

But most of my clients should just want what your plugin offers so I’ll be using this in the future very soon I hope.

    Good luck, and thanks again!
