[Plugin: Register Plus] Feature Suggestions
-
I’m looking for feature suggestions for the Register Plus plugin. I’d rather add things I know people are looking for, rather than just guessing.
Would you like to be able to add the full profile fields to the registration page? Change the logo on the registration page? Other ideas?
Thanks!

When will there be a tested WP v2.7-compatible version available?
GREAT plugin for the most part (until WP v2.7) …
DanoNH, I have 2.7. When u say it does not work, is the behavior u are observing where the register link is clicked, but the wp form is displayed ?
WP 2.7: when you upload via ftp and manually activate the plugin, you′ll have no problems.
feature suggestion #1:
Show user-list only for specific level. i know, you can call this via user_level from user_meta table, but it would be nice to have a shortcode to display user-data on a post/page and it would be even more nice if you could specify the output user level (for making something close to user groups) too.
Hi Skullbit,
Register Plus was exactly the plugin i was looking to convert our site (Favourite56.com)into a invite-only group. It was great to have your work. Since you asked here are a couple of suggestions:
1. Feature to send invite-emails through register-plus (instead of manually sending the invite code)
2. On Password loss, feature for the user to set his own password through email verfication link (instead of current automated password generation)—-
Also, it would be great to have the 2.7 compatible version, as you may already know it has the problems:
1. Password strength meter doesn’t work
2. Warning in Dashboard of Registerplus invite registrationsKeep up the great work and thanks a lot.
not sure if it would be a possibility for the register plus plugin but, it would be great if invitation codes could be used to categorize new users to specific groups or roles. I’ve installed advanced role managers but would love it if users could automatically be assigned appropriate groups at their initial registration with out administrative action.
Is this something that could be done through register plus or am i looking in the wrong place?
GREAT PLUGIN OTHERWISE!Is it possible to show the login fields on a page by calling say [register_plus_create] in a page/post or something like that?
It would also be cool, if we could show a profile page by calling say: [register_plus_profile], just to let the users be rid of the backend.
Adding to the chours – great plugin!
And a feature ask…
I use the “Moderate all user resgistrations to require admin approval” feature. When the admin approves the feature, a standard verificaiton email is sent. Would love to customize this email, which doesn’t seem possible now.All the additional information fields are great. Especially if you want to build a community, like I do. But now I want to show all my members profiles through my website (I’m currently using Profiler) however, I can’t show those additional fields to the public. It would be nice to have a profile page linked to the registration, where I can specify which fields to show on the profile page. Or – have Profiler be able to access those additional fields. That seems simpler and I’ve already mentioned it to the creator.
Either way, bravo for a fantastic plugin!
No, when I was using the plugin, except for the custom logo not showing up, it seemed to be displaying correctly on my site, Dan’s Web Spot…
There were some show-stopper issues, such as reCaptcha and Simple Captcha not working, scripting errors in IE7, and conflicts with other plugins, such as Lester Chan’s WP-UserOnline.
I have tried some cursory testing with individual other plugins. I use 25+ plugins and they all play nice together but Register-Plus would give me 500 Internal Server Errors and prohibit me from editing password protected posts…
The plugin is an excellent idea, and I commend the author’s efforts; for whatever reasons it seemed to be more compatible with earlier versions of WordPress. I’d actually love to see some of the Register-Plus features incorporated in the next big spin of WordPress, say v3.0?
Wishful thinking I suppose…
On Password loss, feature for the user to set his own password through email verfication link (instead of current automated password generation)
I second this suggestion by one of the posters above.
Would be very usefull to have this capability, which would eliminate the need to display the full profile page (at least for our requirements).
Thanks.

I second this suggestion by one of the posters above.
I’d also love to see this.
Also in the case where the original registration verification email was trashed before verifying, re-registering with the same email address/username isn’t allowed. It would be great to have a way for the user to be able to re-request that a registration verification email be resent.
superann, have you sucessfully loaded this plug in on your wordpress? if so how did you do so?

my own serverFirst, GREAT plugin. KUDOS! I use it with the invite code.
However, looking to keep folks without an invite away from the registration page all together.
I think what I need would result in a new feature for register-plus.
I am wondering how difficult it would be to create another option for the invite code feature in register-plus.
A “Display invite code entry form before displaying registration form” check box option?
Also a selection for number of failed attempts before redirecting to specific url. With a text box for the redirect url?
Man, am I over complicating things again or what?
If that is not enough, what about the ability to have the login and profile actions take place in a page. So the theme can be used not the wordpress dashboard and such.
I tried a customize your community plug in (https://www.sugarrae.com/wordpress/cyc/) but, does not play well with theme stylesheets. I even modded that plug-in, removed the stylesheets in it, made my own to no avail.
I think your plug in is the cure all for many attempts out there.
The only issue I had was a dashboard problem which I believe is the same one as mentioned above.
You will see a monetary donation from me next week.
A major update is in the works with much of the features you request. I’ll do my best to include the rest. Thanks for your support!
