• Hello.

There are some plugins like Wordfence that report critical issues with plugins that are removed from www.ads-software.com and are not supported and updated.

Because not all sites use this or similar plugin, could the health monitor of WP core or the plugins page include any icon to mark this plugin issue or removed from www.ads-software.com???

It would be very useful to see if there is anything plugin removed so that it can be replaced before some critical site errors or vulnerabilities are discovered.

  • Hi,

It would be an idea, but to be in core it would need to factor in many sites use plugins that are not on wp.org or mnay have been removed from wp.org but are supported elsewhere.

However suggestions for core enhancements are better raised as trac tickets, rather than on this support forum, as it it hot or miss that any one involved in volunteering support is also involved in core.

I would guess that the response would be that such a function is best served by a plugin rather than core. However don’t let that stop you registering your suggestion. https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/handbook/contribute/trac/

    Hi.

Thanks for the reply and sorry I am new in this and I don’t know my way around this place…

Just something about my idea …
I know all plugins are not on WP.org but if I get a note thate update is posible for a plugin because they are on WP.org than the same message could be for plugins that are removed from WP.org … just thinking, sorry.

    Good thoughts.

I’m rather thinking like a traffic light system on the plugin page – rather like some SEO plugins give traffic lights on page / post lists.

I’m in danger of getting distracted and writing a plugin to do this ??

This is exactly what I had in mind.. a traffic light that shows whether the plugin is still supported, an update available, or already updated.

I’m not a programmer myself, but I hope that something like this is implemented in WP or some basic plugin in the future.
