Plugin renames the wrong files

    One of my writers uploaded 4 images
    1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg and 4.jpg
    I changed the titles on all 4 so they could be renamed by the plugin.
    The database was changed and some files renamed, but there were other problems.

    image1.jpg was deleted
    forex-02.jpg was deleted
    lollapalooza3.jpg was deleted
    I can’t work out what happened to #4

    I think they only way I can fix this is to delete all 7 or 8 and re-upload them with the right names.

    This database has 27,500 posts, so I can’t afford to take any more chances with the plugin, Jordy.

    I just found you have a logfile, so here is what happened – and it shows why I couldn’t find a file that ended in 4.jpg.

    The reason is that it changed the “clothing-696×464.jpg” file, rather than 4.jpg
    Then it switches to work on the correct set of files, but you see it fails completely, not changing the files at all.

    I think I might know why. Why are your original files names with a resolution at the end of it? Those kinds of names are normally reserved by WordPress for the thumbnails. Using filenames like this (for the full-size images) might cause many issues… and maybe that’s why.

    I recommend you not to use the plugin if this is happening, for sure, I would need to test and I could even maybe handle it, but I think the cons everybody would get would not be good for 99.8% of my users, so not sure about doing it ??
