Plugin Repository can't authenticate my login?

Yeah I have a period. WordPress didn’t reject me from using it when I created the account…

What to do now?

I’ve reached out to someone who may be able to help. The problem is that WordPress (and bbPress, which runs the forum) are perfectly happy with a period in your name.

SVN is less so.

You’re trying to login as splashingpixels.com with the period, correct?

I doubt the period in the username matter. SVN seems like it would be okay with it to me.

The username does need to be exact though, as does the password. Case matters too.

Also, it generally takes more than an hour or two for SVN to get caught up on the user logins for newly created plugins. Wait a day.

Thanks for for the replies. I copy and paste the username/password straight from the email www.ads-software.com sent me so typo isn’t an issue here. But I will wait another day as you might be on to something about the SVN not registering my user account yet.

It actually might (it’s been so long I can’t remember if it randomly capitalizes anything…). Your ID is all in lower case, though, so just make absolutely sure you’re doing that.

I know it’s not a full day yet but it’s been 13 hours past since I’ve received the WordPress email that states my repository will be ready within 1 hour.

I just tried to commit and still getting the authentication error.

Could you guys please help to change my name if needed..I suppose both the name on the account and the repo needs to change?

What’s the exact error you’re getting?

And what SVN client are you using?

I am using Tortoise. When clicking on commit, it will give you a dialog box to enter login name and password. After entering it, it will just refresh with the same questions as if the login was incorrect. When I click cancel is when I see the error in the console.

What version of Tortoise? I remember there was a silly issue with it’s trunk version that was causing headaches.
