[Plugin request] Add a user as a friend

Are you using buddypress? I’m not very familiar with it, but I believe this functionality exists: https://buddypress.org/components/friends/

Oh thanks for the link, looks like it’s for WordPress MU though, still might be useful though I guess ??

I’ve tried Buddypress. But there are two issues with the friends plugin

1) the other user needs to accept the friendship. This doesn’t seem necessary

2) it’s only available for WP-MU, not for classic wordpress installation.

Would it be possible to remove the “accept friend” part of the Buddypress-plugin and then make it compatible with wordpress?

OR – am I missing something here? Is there already a friends plugin for classic wordpress?

I tend to disagree, “online friendship” should be by mutual consent and this option be kept. Less you want to add a lot of ppl to your list and start bombarding them with Spam.

@gene53: Think of Twitter and the “Follow” functionality. That’s what I’m looking for. You want to “Follow” friends. But you dont want them to approve you.

I’m looking for such “Follow” functionality and possibility for WordPress too. I’m not trying to advertise, but please check out youthsays.com

Their user profile page has a follow/unfollow function(then you could know who is following you/followed by you… nice! Works almost like Twitter.

How to do that?! @_@
