    Hi @adassets,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I understand you’re experiencing server outages due to the high number of accesses from Googlebot thus causing an overload on your server.

As a first step, I recommend ensuring that your server resources meet the required resources for hosting a WooCommerce site.

As you may know, Googlebot is a web crawler that scans your site to index it for Google’s search engine. If it’s accessing your site too frequently, it could consume too much of your server’s resources.

However, you can try limiting the crawl rate settings in your Google Search Console. This will limit the number of times Googlebot can access your site within a given time frame, reducing server load.

Before making any changes, we would like to investigate this issue in more detail. Could you please provide us with any error messages you’ve received on your end, and the times the outages occurred? This will help us to identify the exact cause and provide a more targeted solution.

    Thanks for your understanding.

Hi. Our server provider was the one that notified us of this issue. We were told it on the September 11 for the log information given above – looks to be between 12am and 7am PST.

In order to mitigate, the server provider did a crawl-delay to 30 but told us to contact the plugin developers to get this issue resolved as it isn’t normal?

    Hello adassets,

    Thank you for your reply.

Could share the source of this data?
Is this data provided by the web host?

    Googlebot – 7,129 accesses
    Googlebot – 1,809 accesses
    Googlebot – 812 accesses
    Googlebot-Image – 365 accesses

To confirm Google for WooCommerce is causing this spike, I suggest you deactivate this plugin for some time and monitor Googlebot crawls.

Please share your findings with me.

    Best regards.
