On your second issue, I’m aware of it and an fix is forthcoming when I get the time to work on the plugin.

@mmuro I had the same issue with the plugin not handling an ampersand or space.

Here’s a modified version of your plugin with that issue resolved – it uses the category slug for form element IDs instead of the category name. May also have fixed the same-name problem (since it now uses the slug), but I haven’t tested that. Anyway, hope you don’t mind ??

I added a comment at the end of every line I modified “// v1.4a”

    Cheers!

    Hey guys,

I wanted to let you know that I just released an update to the plugin that fixes these issues as well as a big UI update. Let me know if you have any problems.

yes matt you latest versions 1.5 and 1.4 broke the custom menus is not possible to save the menus… saving the menu in Twentyten theme cause the custom menu disappear (even if it is still visible in the dashboard) is not possible to select it in the theme location panel

I have not been able to find any link between my plugin and the Custom Menus. All testing on my site indicates the Custom Menus function as normal. Are you sure it’s not some other plugin causing problems?

I’m pretty sure, disabled all the plugins and enabled only restrict category the menu itself works until you make a change (like adding a page) and save it, if you do you are not able to select the menu in this panel:
    here: https://carsonified.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Google-Chrome-11.png

disabling the plugin the problem is gone, infact a workaround is disabling the plugin, modify the menu, and enable the plugin again..

Anyway I’m now using version 1.3 with this version there is no problem, 1.4 and 1.5 broke the menu someway.

mm it’s strange I’m not able to replicate it on another wp installation. I will report here If i get any new info.

do the plugin use some javascript?

No, there is no JavaScript in use.

As a follow-up to your previous message, there were no major changes in Version 1.4 compared to 1.3, so there’s probably something else going on.

You may try switching your theme and then testing Restrict Categories again.

thanks mmuro, I don’t get it, i tried to update it again to 1.5 and now it is working and the problem is gone, in my previuos testings a few hours ago reistalling or istalling a different version wasn’t fixing the problem until I switched to 1.3.. but now it works with 1.5 again.

    I feel stupid..

Thanks for your plugin and sorry I really don’t know what was happening.
