    Hi,

I have a user and a group with assigned RS contributor capabilities for pages. The user can create a new page, but has NO page parent drop down selector. The attribute meta box is there, but without the drop down box for the parent page.

Every page has by default a restriction for author, contributor and editor. I assigned permissions for some pages via the assign role for pages.

I also assigned a general role contributor for that group with that user.

Also checked that the div element is NOT in the list under advanced settings.

Still, the parent page is missing.

    Anybody an idea?

    Thanx
    Achim

Normally, you would also give that user/group a Page Associate role for all pages which should be available as Page Parent.

I have also added a new option that may be helpful on sites that don’t need to content restrictions / roles for Editor:

    • Feature : New option Roles > Options > Advanced > Page Structure > “no Page Parent filter”, means anyone who can edit submit or publish a page can select any parent

    Hi,

I found this thread when looking for a solution to the same issue as the OP.

Assigning the contributor user/group also to the role of Page Associate for all selectable page parents seems to solve the parent display issue (parent pages are now displayed in the attributes box), however for me it has raised another problem where the submitted page for review doesn’t inherit whatever the selected parent page’s role settings. i.e. the editor role user/group setting.

Does anyone know a way to make this occur?
