[Plugin: RSS Footer] wordpress newbie

i came to this plug in from a blog entry talking about how it could be used to help in seo with linking and so forth. my (probably dumb) question is: does this alter an rss that is already set up or does it create a new one with the new capability to change the links and information? i had a meta plug in installed awhile ago that had an rss as part of it, but switched to a new plugin and so the old rss links left when i deactivated the old plug in.
