• After the last update the Download Monitor does not provide you the e-mails of the visitors who downloaded your stuff anymore. Since the only worthy feature has been removed from the free version, it is pretty much useless now.

What’s more, not knowing that those e-mails will be removed from the report I updated to the new version and lost a bunch of e-mail addresses I was looking forward to adding to my e-mail list – now gone forever. Making it a paid feature is your right, but you could have at least informed us so that we could retrieve this information before updating and we don’t lose the e-mail addresses.

I am extremely disappointed and looking for a replacement.

P.P.: Could be that another plug-in has messed things up. I am sorry for my hasty response and change my rating accordingly.

    Hey @nenko,

We didn’t remove a feature that collected email addresses from the plugin. What did you use to collect these? Because neither the legacy or the rewrite had such a feature build in out of the box.

Also, depending on where these are stored, we didn’t remove these email addresses from your database either. This means they must still be somewhere in your database.

Looking forward to your response so we can clear this up.

    Kind Regards,

    Hey @barrykooij,

Well, the old download log contained user name and email I collect via Contact Form 7. The current one does not. It would be useful to retrieve this information, but I suspect it is a paid feature now.

    Kind regards,
    Nenko

    Hey @nenko,

I think you were using another plugin by another developer which ‘glued’ Download Monitor and Contact Form 7 together. We never offered a functionality like this (we still don’t). It is true that we offer (paid) extensions that can do the same thing but these are not based on contact form 7.

If you were using a ‘glue’ plugin, please contact the author of it. They should be able to help you resolve this issue.

    Kind Regards,

    Barry Kooij

Ps. Thanks so much for updating your review! Not a lot of people do this and it is very appreciated!
