[Plugin: Runners Log] Enable weather causes PHP error

  • Have recently descovered this plugin which i must say is fantastic!
    Unfortunatly enable the WEATHER function, killed my site with this error

    weather failed, check feed URL

    I have had to rename the plugins folder to get back in as nothing was working!

    Any help would be great

    Using PHP 5.2.17

    Im not able to recall the reported bug, could give me some more details?

    1. did you enable any items in wp-admin/admin.php?page=runners-log-weather-settings

    Enable Temperature Measurement
    Enable Windchill Measurement
    Enable Humidity Measurement
    Enable Textbased Weather Description
    Enable Weather Data from Yahoo

    2. if you did so, did you paste in an WOEID in the fields below:
    New WOEID:

    3. did you place in a tag in your template like?
    <?php if (function_exists(runners_log_weather)) echo runners_log_weather(); ?>

    No one else have reported that bug and I did just made a fresh install of wp 3.4 and the latest version of runners-logs. Total vanilla, and I do see my site without any errors as you have reported.

    So please help, if Im going to help you further in this issue…

    Now I did try to set it to english distance and units.

    And did use the WOID: 27116540

    Im still not able to get that error.

    I also see the link is valid: https://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?w=27116540&u=f

    Maybe yahoo’s weather service was down a moment or two?

    hi,

    I selected all the options you mentioned above, AFTER i put in the WOEID.

    Soon as I selecetd enable weather i got the error and couldnt get in to site or admin.

    I have now been able to edit the SQL database to reset the plugin settings and get everything working. As long as I dont enable the weather its all good!

    I’ll do a new test and I will report back…

    Okay, here is what I did.

    Fresh vanilla installation of WP3.3 on my Synology Diskstation
    Did install Runners-log
    I did activate the plug-in

    Did visit the frontend and the “Hello world” post: wordpress/?p=1 – no errors
    Did visit the sample page wordpress/?page_id=2 – no errors

    In Runners-log settings I did set:
    Distance type = Miles
    Unit type = English

    And Im still not able to recall it… Sorry…

    I did release version 3.2 – maybe it will fix it?
