• hi Didier,

a year and several versions of SABRE and GeneralStats later, everything still works fine on the ‘user-count cooperation’. ?? just to cross-check with you – the sql-statement from last year is still ok, isn’t it?

my latest plans for GeneralStats are to get the information about stats quicker to the user. thus, i’m going to implement an optional ajax-refresh and the possibility to force the cache to be refreshed, if a certain action like publishing a post or editing a comment is committed. as i also want to keep the SABRE users updated, i wanted to ask you if there is a wordpress action hook available in SABRE, which fires whenever a new user has been confirmed by SABRE (maybe at the same time, the confirmation-mail is sent)? if not, could you be so kind to implement the necessary locs in one of your next versions?

thanks for your answer in advance.

    greetz,
    Berny

  • Hi Berny,

I’m glad to hear from you again! ??

There have been no change of the Sabre’s database structure over the last versions, so your SQL statement is always valid.

As you suggested, I will add some action hooks in Sabre for the next version. I will go into more details soon when I get a clearer idea of where these hooks must be fired in the Sabre’s logic. But at least, one will be triggered after user’s confirmation, without any doubt.

I plan to release the next version with WordPress 2.8.

    Best regards,
    Didier

    Hi Didier,

good to hear from you, too. – thanks for your reply.

i’m pretty sure that waiting with the next version of SABRE for the release of wp 2.8 is a good idea. – i heard some rumors about a change in their authentication systems (maybe something like openID or LDAP). – and as stable as wordpress has been over the last years, i hope for you that the re-coding effort isn’t to much!

i’m not digging too deep into wordpress logic with my plugins, but better planning from the core programmers (at least for a couple of releases) would decrease the pressure. – it’s all about a little consistency and not implementing feature 7346, isn’t it? ?? and more documentation would also be nice. – for example the action reference is really not up-to-date and thus, i had to do reverse-engineering on different wp versions to find out which hooks are stable and working!

anyway, the new version of GeneralStats is almost finished and i’m looking forward to your action hooks. ??

    greetz,
    Berny
