Plugin security

I am new to this plugin after reviewing a number of similar ones and deciding this is one to test out. There is a 4 star review “Security considerations when selling digital goods By andres.tarasco, April 26, 2014 for WP 3.9” where 3 issues are highlighted that are a potential security risk, together with a suggested fix.
Have these fixes been added to the core plugin now? If not is there a plan to add them in and when?
I am not keen to edit plugin files as suggested, as any update will could break or lose the fix.
