Plugin sends mail, but still don't get comment notification etc

    Hi.

    I’m on shared hosting, but my mail MX records point to Zoho.

    I used this plugin (entered credentials for SSL connection) and set it to use SMTP. I got:

    SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Unable to find the socket transport “ssl” – did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? (24)

    So I asked my shared provider to uncomment the relevant openSSL lines from PHP.ini etc. Anyway, no joy. So I set the mail to use PHP Mail() and it worked fine. I received the test email.

    However, when people post comments I’m still not getting any notification? I just upgraded to WP4 but the problem persisted in previous versions too.

    Any help appreciated.

    There was no real solution to this. I think I perhaps needed to ensure I was logged out before testing the comments.
