[Plugin: SEO Ultimate] 404 Monitor: Why are search engines crawling pages I've deleted?

I deleted the first page and blog post created when WordPress is installed, as well I removed a lot of links to things like the RSS feed. Yet the 404 Monitor on this plugin keeps telling me that search engines are trying to access those pages. Why?
