    Hello,

I can’t figure out why, but every anchor text is linking NOT to the destination URL — but to the page that the anchor text is on.

For example, if I had a category named widget.

On my anchor text, I make widgets. The widgets link does not go to the category link specified in the destination but rather to the page where the text — widgets was found.

How do I fix this? I can’t seem to figure out why it’s doing it.

    Thanks,

    Worthy

Hmm, it’s working fine for me. Could you please reply with the following info:

    1. What version of WordPress are you using?
    2. What is the HTML source code of the “widgets” link being generated on the page where the “widgets” anchor text is?
    3. Are there any posts in the “widget” category?
    4. What settings do you have enabled on the Content Link Settings tab of Deeplink Juggernaut?

    1. 3.2

    2. I’m not running any widgets on my site. I prefer to run php includes since 1/2 of my site doesn’t use WordPress — this way I can update my template by altering an .inc file

    3. No posts in the Widget categorys

    4. Content Link settings:

Self linking — Allow posts to link to themselves — UNCHECKED
    Quanity restricitions
Checked — Don’t add more than 3 autolinks per post / page
Checked — Don’t link the same anchor any more than 2 times per post/page
Checked — Don’t link the same anchor text more than 50 times across my entire site

Tag Restrictions — dont add autolinks to text with HTML tags
    code,pre,kbd,h1,h2,h3,h4,h5

Siloing — Not checked — posts can only link / category / post tag

    Thanks

When I look at my source code — this is what’s happening — keyword

    Hi John,
I am having a similar issue:
The blog is located “below” a shop (shopdomain.de/blog)
I used Juggernaut to link to categories of the shop in this way:
“word” as anchor text, “https://shopdomain/wordcategorie” as destination, “Word in the Shop” as title attribute and ticked “New Window”.
This worked well until last week or so. Since then all links lead to the page on which the link resides on, just like on Worthy’s site. The title attribute is correct, not the href.
    Your Question’s answers:
    1. WP 3.2
    2. <a href="" title="Word in the Shop" target="_blank">
    3. I am linking to pages outside of the blog
    4. Ticked: Don’t add more than 5 …, Don’t link the same anchor more than 2x per post, Don’t link the same anchor more than 50x

Changing these settings does not make a difference. Maybe I should mention an installed BulletproofSecurity and SEO Ultimate also.

    Any clue?
    Help is appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

I’m not sure why it didn’t show the code — but the code that is happening is — a href=” ” — nothing in between the quotes.

Thank you for reporting the issue everyone. The info you provided helped me track down the problem. The bug should be fixed in SEO Ultimate 6.5.1.

Thanks for your help John, but it appears now that no links are being shown at all.

Ok John this is the problem. It’s the length of the URL I believe.

I have it installed on another site and it’s fine and when I shortened the URL to the domain name — it worked again.

The problem appears to be a long url.

    https://www.domainname.com/category/category1/subcateory1/finalcategory1

Basically it’s sub-categories within the page that is causing the problem. Do you have a length setting in the URL insert?

    Thanks,

    Worthy

I tried the URL you gave (https://www.domainname.com/category/category1/subcateory1/finalcategory1) and it worked fine on 6.5.1. Perhaps you have some settings enabled under the “Content Link Settings” tab that are stopping the link from being added in the place you’re looking? What happens if you temporarily disable those settings?

    Hi John,
this is to tell you that my problem is solved, my links are working again. But compared to Worthy my links are relatively short, as i only link to pages in the root of my shop.

Thank you for this quick fix – and good luck to worthy with his issue.

    Hi John,

It’s working now! I changed some settings and cleared out my page cache — W3 Total Cache and that seemed to do the trick! I’m not sure what settings I modified to correct it, but I’m not messing with it now that it’s working fine!

Thanks again for an AWESOME plugin!
