    Hi @forcesail. Thanks for raising this suggestion. It’s on our radar, although it might be a sizable change. We’re using WordPress native queries. We need to analyze if moving to custom database queries is a better approach and how we could do it with the minimum of disruption to users.

    You mentioned in the original post that you’ve been using MetaSlider for 10 years (thank you!) We’ve been running MetaSlider for a couple of years ago. One thing we’ve learned with such an old plugin is that we need to move very carefully because people are using it in all sorts of surprising and unpredictable ways. We’re very cautious with any big changes.

    Hi Steve,

    Don’t worry. I spent 15 minutes and fixed it in your plugin. Now it works in 400 times faster.

    Just never relay on DB optimization (it’s very poor until it’s not an enterprise DB) and never-never on WP_Query optimization (it absents at all).
