[Plugin: Shashin] Share to social site

I’m working on the next version of Shashin now. I like this idea. It won’t make the upcoming version (I’m focusing on some other things first), but I’ll put it on the to-do list, which you can see here: https://www.toppa.com/shashin-3-development-progress/

May be there is any way to add social buttons code to every picture?

The share button is still on the list, but I don’t know when I will get to it.

You are an author who busy with other things and i’m a user who need this feature.
So possible i ask you how much user have to donate to motivate author make this feature done?

Hi Sergey – I’ve taken a closer look at the Facebook Like button implementation. I don’t think it will make much sense to add this to Shashin after all. The Like button requires that you are “liking” a specific URL, so it won’t make sense to include the Like button when showing a picture in Highslide, since it’s showing pictures through Javascript. For the thumbnails, they are embedded in WordPress posts or pages, and there are already plugins available for adding Facebook Like buttons to posts and pages (or to put it another way, if I added a Like button for Shashin thumbnails, there would be no way to distinguish liking the pictures from liking the post they are in, since they are at the same URL).

I’m open to suggestions if there’s a way you’d like to see it that won’t result in multiple Like buttons on the same post, if someone already has a facebook Like button plugin.

Since every image must have a particular web address, is there no way to make a “share” or “copy URL” button to that image or at least that gallery page?

I use picasa so a single image can be linked by:

Note also, there is a share button availabe from picasa itself, but I suppose that will only work for a gmail account user.

I haven’t forgotten this. I got sidetracked by the need to switch the viewer to Fancybox.

I haven’t worked on it yet (I got sidetracked with the need to switch to Fancybox), but I liked your suggestion of having a share or like button that links to the page for the image at Picasa. Others have been asking for this too so I will put it on the to-do list.
