Yes, same thing happens. Only the shortcode comes up and nothing else. This is with dozens of plugins, so there is something missing from the code.
    Anyone have experience with this?

Only the shortcode comes up and nothing else.

If you are seeing shortcodes on the front end of your site, then either you theme is not parsing them correctly or another plugin is interfering with shortcode parsing.

Have you tried to create your own simple shortcode and see if it is working?

If you are not sure how to add the shortcode, check this out.

If that doesn’t work too, then as esmi said, probably your theme isn’t quite doing correctly.

@esmi: I’ve disabled all other plugins and tried turning them on 1 by 1, and it still didn’t work.

@ryan yu: Yea, I’ll try that. This “theme” is more custom than anything else. I coded most of it and I though I had all the necessary code to make the plugins work on the pages. But i’m missing something and I have a feeling that it’s something obvious that I’m not seeing.

I’ll get back to you guys, thanks.

No. Deactivate ALL plugins, leave them off and switch to the Twenty Twelve theme. Now do you have the same problem with – for example, inserting a captioned image (which uses a shortcode by default)?
