• Hi,

I’ve been looking through the forum to find a way of linking the images in the jCarousel shortcode to the Post ID (or permalink).

I have already found this thread (resolved):
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-shortcodes-ultimate-jcarousel-how-to-use-the-p-postpage-id?replies=2

While the suggestion in this thread sounds “okay”, I’m not sure if using the Caption as a URL filed is appropriate. It means that it’s not possible to use the Caption field to display what it’s designed to do (i.e. it should be used just to display Captions strings – all images with captions will now have URLs… this doesn’t seem right!).

At the moment, I’m using the shortcode:

    [jcarousel source="post=35,39,37,12" link="image" items="3"]

Now, as you can see, the list of post IDs are already specified in the “source” (and works nicely).

The question is, for the “link” attribute, would it be possible to grab the permalink (or the Post ID – already used in the source) to be the location of where the image links to?

Perhaps it would read something like link="post" and then actually link to the post or page? Please could this be added…? It’s possibly the only feature of this amazing plugin that doesn’t make sense to me right now!

Keep up the great work. It’s very much appreciated! ??
