DO you mean the images inside a post? This is not controlled by the plugin and the sizes are the same ones in the post.

The size for image thumbnails in a post is an option inside WordPress. So, if you are going to publish posts with images in the sidebar, setup a thumbnail size that fills in your sidebar.

thank you for the fast reply! media/settings thumbnail is set for 150 X 150. yet, the thumbnail being generated from a larger image inside the WP post when placed in your widget is 100 X 75. now, when i used a different style this thumbnail was larger. i think i just answered my own question. the style i’m using may have it’s own settings… just the same, can you throw me a bone and tell me if i’m on the right track or how to this? thanks again.

OK, i just did a search for anything set to 100 (thumbnail width) in my theme – nada! do you know where is this being set?

The thumb images are being reduced in size when using the widget in excerpt mode. This is the issue! I’m thinking the next step is to try an excerpt-image plug-in… any addtional feedback would be appreciated…

By design, WordPress does not show images nor thumbnails in excerpts. Excerpts are plain text only.

The only way to show images in sideposts is to publish full posts. After that, you have two ways: 1) Set WordPress to generate thumbnails at desired size, or 2) Upload the image at the size you want and post it in full size.

This have nothing to do with the widget. The widget just displays the post “AS IS”, I mean, the Widget displays the post as WordPress generates it, and the images are part of the post. The only difference posting on the sidebar, is that you have a really small space to display the post.

Thumbnail for Excerpt — this plugin will insert the image in the SidePost in except mode. NOTE: THIS IS WHERE YOU SET THE THUMBNAIL SIZE. I was trying to set it via WP. jzzz.
