Plugin similar to Nextdoor

Here in the UK we have a local neighbourhood website and app called Streetlife that allows local people to discuss issues, raise concerns, post events, etc. This is now being taken over by Nextdoor which is run from the US and insists on us providing far too much information about ourselves. We are worried about our security. Is there a plugin that can give a similar look and feel to either of these? Bulletin boards and Forums don’t seem to fit the bill so much, but there may be something that is fairly close.
