    Dear Otto,

first of all let me give you my thanks for all the work you’ve put into this great plugin!

I was running Wordbooker on one of my other sites, but for a new site i was looking for a more convenient plugin, and SFP really is exactly what i was looking for.

However, unfortunately the automatic publishing to the fanpage does not work. App ID, App Secret and fanpage ID are set correctly, and all three token checks are reporting back “green”.

“Automatically Publish to Facebook Fan Page” is checked.

Pressing the “Publish to fanpage” button in the article page works every time like a charm, however this may use a different mechanism as i must be logged into facebook for that.

As the site is the homepage of a sports club, many different people are writing articles – and they are not admin on the fanpage (and should not be!) or do not even have a FB account – so the automatic publishing from wordpress is really what i need.

Do you have any ideas or advices to sort this issue out? Can i provide any logs?

Plugin version is 1.1, the facebook fanpage is a german one (don’t know if there is a difference).

    Thanks,
    Marco

Not yet, but I’m talking to some Facebook developers to try to figure out just WTF is going on there.

    Hi Otto,

I been having the same issue with auto posting, it seems that it works great at first, but then the connection expire. Though the admin panel shows that the User ID token, the app Token and the Fan page token been found, it will only auto post after I press the grant permission button again, I been trying to debug it for a few days and noticed that it usually expire after around 45 min from the time I pressed the grant permission button, once I pressed it again it will work for another 45 min.

I assume that you are right when you are saying not to log out of facebook since it breaks the access token, what would be the best way to do that via wordpress, or do you mean just not to log out of facebook (I am always logged in)

Thanks for a really great plugin and your effort on this!

I seem to be having the same problem. If there is anything I can do to debug please let me know.

    Hello, everybody,
Just bringing some fresh air to this thread:

    1) its right: automatically publish works with “common” posts but it fails when posts are scheduled (all my posts are scheduled, so it doesnt work to me)
    2) I have Simple Twitter Connect installed too and it works fine, with scheduled and non-scheduled posts. It could be a good benchmark to solve this problem, even talking about two different APIs

    Cheers!

There’s no current problem with scheduled posts as of 1.3 that I am aware of. There was previously an issue there, but this was fixed a while back. Scheduled posts *do* auto-publish, this has been tested and is known to be working properly.

Sam, is there any way to limit how many stories are posted to my Facebook Page?

I’m running a news site and publishing “all” stories simply overwhelms the people that “Like” my page and thus is spamming their timeline.

It would be really good to have a feature that allows SFC to be limited to say 15 posts to my FB page a day or so. Or a maximum of X per hour would work as well.

If this feature is already implemented, please let me know where to find it / how to do it.

    Thanks a lot,
    JOKER

    The same problem as screename:
“I been having the same issue with auto posting, it seems that it works great at first, but then the connection expire. Though the admin panel shows that the User ID token, the app Token and the Fan page token been found, it will only auto post after I press the grant permission button again, I been trying to debug it for a few days and noticed that it usually expire after around 50 min from the time I pressed the grant permission button, once I pressed it again it will work for another 50
    min. “

I am always logged in Facebook but it’s not helping. Is there any way to fix this?

Please is there any relief that auto publish of this great app is working with schedule post. I have researched, and there is no better app that does the same job. The only down side is the “auto publish.” It does not work when your account is log out. Please help.

having the same problem with autopublishing and granting extended permissions to SFC on the plugin settings page. both ‘User ID and Access Token found!’ and ‘Application Access Token found!’ are green.

Yeah. It really doesn’t work. Manual publishing is OK, though. Unfortunately, with manual publishing, comments are not pulled into WordPress ??

Please have a solution to that? I cant post automatically and do not work the comment integration!

Sorry – I’m having the same problem. All access tokens are showing in green, manual posting to FB works but automatic posting for scheduled posts doesn’t.

    Same issue here as well.

Here is the log I get about how it fails.

    [2012-08-06 13:38:07.1344260287] [inc-fb-status-updater.php – fbStatusUpdater(…)] Error while posting to page link: OAuthException – (#210) Subject must be a page.

Same problem here… Automatic publishing stops working without any reason.

And maybe Otto left the development of the plugin?

    From plugin description:

Hey, have you tried the Official Facebook Plugin yet? Maybe you should give that one a shot before trying this one.

I hope to see problems fixed pretty soon, because Simple Facebook Connect gives much more customization than official Facebook plugin ??
