[Plugin: Simple Facebook Connect] SFC Fan Box lacks dark color scheme option

  • I use a dark theme for my site and Facebook offers a dark coloring for the Like Box which is obviously the base of the SFC Fan Box.

    So I had to manually add a free text/HTML widget with code given by Facebook (which also posed problems as they don’t give it right with modified parameters although show it right in preview) instead of using SFC Fan Box. Which I wouldn’t need if you could add that parameter to your widget. And which would make it useful for dark-colors users.

    That is achieved by adding that parameter to the iframe src URL:
    &colorscheme=dark

    It looks perfect for a white-on-black sort of background, no need to customize. https://journal.joe-flanigan.info

    Actually, no, it’s not based on the Like Box. It’s based on the original Fan Box, which is different and does not have a “colorscheme” option.

    SFC 1.0 changes this to use the Like Box instead.

    When will SFC 1.0 become available?
    Or is it not as simple as I’ll be notified about upgrades in WP?

    Also, there is the same problem with Find us on Facebook widget and Facebook Bookmark widget doesn’t work at all.

    When it’s done. When I have time to finish it. Sometime. Eventually. I dunno.

    The Bookmark widget does not work at all. This is known, Facebook stopped supporting it. So just stop using it.

    The Find us widget works perfectly, dunno what you mean there.

    And if and when I release 1.0, yep, you’ll know about it in WP.
