• I’ve been going round and round on this trying to figure, so I thought I’d ask here.

When a blog post is added to my website fan page wall as a status update, there is no automatic “share” link, although there are “comments” and “like” and “read post” links.

Is this a function of the plugin? or, despite combing through every option on the page edit screen, have I just missed something?

Okay, so I see it is possible for the “share” link to appear but only if the link is manually added. Is there a code tweak that I can implement to so that a “share” button is always included when publishing to facebook automatically using your plugin? And, while we’re at it to have the links appear in a new tab? Basically, I’m looking to replicate the options you get in facebook when you manually add a link.

Is this just something that’s not possible? I’ve been manually adding links to my fan page, but I’d love to be able to automate that and use this great plugin.

What, exactly, are you talking about? I don’t understand what you’re asking for here.

The “new tab” thing is definitely not possible. Facebook controls the target, not you.

When a post is added to facebook via the plugin, it doesn’t include a “share” link on the Wall post. Instead it includes a “read post” link. But when you add a post manually to the Wall it does include the “share” link.

In order to encourage sharing, I’m wondering if it’s possible to have the “share” instead, or in addition to, the “read post” link.

Basically, what I’m hoping to use your plugin to replicate exactly what happens with a manual addition to the Wall.

If you want to change the Read Post link, then you’d have to edit the plugin and change the action link it produces to make your share link.

A post can have only one action link. The code actually tries to add two of them, but as you can see, Facebook only shows the first one.

Okay, I’ll poke around and see what can come up with. Just to be sure I’m understanding, as it is now there is no way to share a Wall post from inside face using the output of this plugin?

Not without editing the plugin, no.

I assume you mean the auto or manual publishing, so you’d need to edit the sfc-publish plugin to do it.

I am in the dark as well as to how this plugin works. I’ve read the threads and am still confused. As I understand it, after I publish a post there is supposed to be a button I click which pushes it to my fan page and application page? I understand that concept, but however I cannot find this ‘button’ which does pushes the post to Facebook. Any help would be great.

EDIT: I wasn’t logged into Facebook and hadn’t enabled the Publish sub-plugin. Seems to be working now. However when publishing to the fan page I am not seeing an image to choose from even though there is one in the post.
