  • I like it too and have used it on a dozen or more blogs for years. However, my host just took down my whole account (11 addon domains) because one Simple Tags install on one blog was nearly causing the (shared) server to stop.

In view of krisisdnd’s comment, I will be re-thinking my tagging strategy. Can’t afford to have 11 sites taken down. And no notice at all ?? Good job I wasn’t on two weeks’ holiday.

Having talked to their support, I actually don’t blame the host.

    Malc

Have you guys tried caching plugins, so simple-tags doesn’t run on every page load?

Combined with WP-Super Cache, it works great! But if not, the perfomance degradation is noticeable.

    Same on side
In addition of performance impact, this plugin also break features from other. I just finish up a blog (https://www.relaxationdynamique.fr) that use both simple tag and Events Manager plugin. I need to stop simple tag to make this plugin works properly. If I keep it running, search (like existing page when inserting a link or existing location for the event ) are broken.

Yep, unfortunately is very probable that this plugin break others, as it haven’t been updated long ago. Don’t know if the developer is still interested, or even alive… It’s a pity that there is no better option to manage tags as this does.
