[Plugin: Simple Taxonomy] Is this Plugin still being maintained?

Someone recommended me to use this plugin – but right now it seems this is an abandoned project? I have similar questions asked in the forum here already but they have not been answered for months and the page where I should find the documentation returns a 404 – not found error.

Therefore: is “Simple Taxonomy” still a maintained WP-Plugin? If not, any alternatives?
