[Plugin: Slideshow Gallery] 1.2 Broke My Slideshow – All images now blank?

Have you turned on the lightbox/thickbox overlay in the Slideshow settings in wp-admin?

If you are running any caching plugin – W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc or even CloudFlare – try flushing them all and switching them off.

If that doesn’t work, try submitting a support ticket at https://tribulant.com/support/ – they are very helpful!

I did turn on lightbox/thickbox.

I’m not running a caching plugin.

I guess I will submit a support ticket.

Okay, the slideshow is now working again, but I have a blank thumbnail slider at the bottom with an arrow on each side.

Can I get rid of this slider altogether?

I assume that you want the thumbnails bar to be turned off, right? So add the ‘showthumbs’ parameter to the PHP code. Here is an example: https://pastebin.com/P9EMS2Ka . (Copy from the “RAW Paste Data” at the bottom if needed).

Is there another update coming? I tried to use 1.2.1 and again had the blank slideshow in Firefox. I even went to the official site for the plugin and got the same thing.

Blank slideshow? Something must cause this. Will you provide a link or submit a ticket to us please: https://tribulant.com/support/

I’m assuming the issue might be specifically due to TimThumb. Please open the image src… the /timthumb.php?src=…. URL in a browser tab on it’s own. TimThumb should show a descriptive error of the problem.

I have the same: a black slideshow with white boxes as thumbnails.
I think its a problem with the cache dir. Opened the thumbnail link in a new tab says “Could not create cache clean timestamp file.”

What is the default cache dir, if in timthumb.php the variable FILE_CACHE_DIRECTORY is empty???

It works when I put the cache dir in the timthumb.php:

if(! defined(‘FILE_CACHE_DIRECTORY’) ) define (‘FILE_CACHE_DIRECTORY’, ‘../../../uploads/slideshow-gallery/cache’);

The FILE_CACHE_DIRECTORY constant is left empty because them TimThumb uses the PHP temporary directory defined by PHP upload_tmp_dir… usually /tmp
