• Since awe.sm is a closed beta now, I’ve modified the sociable plugin to use bit.ly if selected in the Sociable settings menu on the dashboard. Anyone interested, contact me for details. For now, I’ve put a tar of it up on my website if you want to down load it and try it out. It’s called “mysociable” so as not to conflict or overwrite the standard one. Just make sure to deactivate the old one before activating the one I hacked up.

    Here’s the code:

    Okay, an update:

    1. added url shortening service saf.li to the page

    2. now you can only select one the three shortening services

Links above are to the new code and diff.

    Hi! I’m testing your mod.
Saf.li goes very well, but Bit.ly not. I have introduced user and API key, but when I marked his checkbox, and others without marked, and saved the changes, this checkbox appears without mark and this URL shorter doesn’t operate :/
Just at this moment I use Saf.li ??

    Regards!

Considering that the development of this plugin appears to be dead, I am very interested in this mod.

Can you post how to manually make the changes through the plugin editor while using sociable for bit.ly?

    Thanks!

Hi tamouse as Dayer said, its not working for bit.ly . =\
When save the changes the check-box appears without mark. Tried to figure out what to do but the code is to complex for me. Any help would be appreciate. thanks and great job

Nevermind about this plugin. I found sexybookmarks plugin to be great!

Development has moved to Sociable for WordPress 3.0

Awesome dude I tested this one and it work nearly without flaws, only prob I have is when using the “add to favorites” the star icon on the sociable, it does not work with bit.ly turned on. As this is only a minor problem for me I just wanna say congrats, since it it’s so perfect now can get those tiny links when people wanna add U to twitter Facebook and so on ?? Thanks
