• This plugin is absolutely TERRIBLE. DO NOT USE THIS PLUGIN! The authors have embedded a link back to their websites in the “tweet” button which cannot be removed even by modifying the code (I don’t even know how they did it).

    It also messes up the page titles on my website. Absolutely TERRIBLE plugin — I spent hours trying to fix the Tweet issues. Biggest waste of time ever. I am just going to manually place the buttons in a list myself. This plugin should be removed from the WordPress repository because it forces a link back to their website in the Tweet button!

    Hi futurepocket,

    I don’t understand exactly which links you mean, the only link to blogplay is on the tab.

    Also we don’t do anything out of code.

    Please explain me and I tell you whats going on.

    Hi futurepocket

    I’m using Sociable right now, and my client asked me to remove those links too – it’s very easy and right there in the code, as has already been discussed in another forum thread:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-sociable-remove-socialsite

    Do note the message part way down pointing out that you have to reset Sociable to activate the change – note down any settings and customisations/tweaks etc you’ve altered from the defaults first, because you’ll lose many/most of them when you reset.

    Yes, I’m seeing this too. The link from the twitter widget has a couple of references to blogplay.com in it. Is there a technical reason for this?

    <a id="b" class="btn" target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fworkshopshed.2020test.com%2F&source=tweetbutton&text=Knurling%20tool%20-%20http%3A%2F%2Fworkshopshed.2020test.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fknurling-tool%2F%20%20*blogplay.com*%20blogplay.com&url=http%3A%2F%2Fworkshopshed.2020test.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fknurling-tool%2F">

    Hi Workshopshed,

    no exists a technical reason at all, it’s only a reference to us.

    Any doubt or critic about the plugin are welcome, we always working for create a great free plugin.

    Thanks!

    I don’t think there is really an issue with you including your own detail in the link by default but it should be editable.

    I’ve voted with my feet and moved over to AddThis who do allow you to configure that value if desired. But the main reason was that I found the sociable admin UI confusing.
