Another suggestion would be to allow it to, also, display custom fields within a user profile too. It would fit our purpose exactly at that point.

I’m not sure exactly what you mean when you say “display custom fields”. Could you describe this in more detail?

Sure. On our site, we are wanting to create a series of posts where a user is featured. To do this we would like to place their bio, avatar and associated information from their profile on the page. To allow for additional fields, we have implemented a couple of plugins on the site:
Extra User Details, that allow us to create custom fields within the users profile. In our case, we use this for Twitter, Facebook and YouTube usernames.
User Avatar, which allows the user to upload a locally stored picture to use as their avatar.

If we could incorporate those items, along with the bio, it would allow us to feature those user, on a case by case basis, as they are included in different postings.

I have just uploaded v1.2 that adds id as an option to the shortcode so you can use shortcode like [social-bio id=47] and it will display the Social Bio of the user with ID 47.

As for the using the custom fields I’m not completely sure how I would make that work. I certainly could make a specific version that would work with your custom fields but not sure how I could do that on a more generic version for everyone else.

I use the “User Avatar” which allows users to associate photos with their accounts by accessing their “Your Profile” page that default as Gravatar or WordPress Default image. The Social Author Bio works fine with this.

Your plugin does encompass our user avatars, without problem. Wonderful work.

The Extra User Details allow one to specify additional fields for use. I would, more than willingly, send you a list of the fields that we use. I would love a version that would take them into account – and so would our users.
