Plugin sometimes causes WP admin to not work?

    Some users of this plugin have noticed that their site’s admin section stops working from time to time (blank white page after long loading period). From what I can tell, the facebook-social-stream plugin is contacting the licence or extension server on every request, but the service isn’t responding and WordPress eventually fails with an exception or the execution timeout is exceeded or something (no error is shown to the user).

    I’ve tried fetching the fbss-extensions/overview URL from a couple of places and am not getting any response at all. Disabling the plugin or commenting out the extension fetching code seems restores normal functionality.

    Are there any problems with your API service at the moment? Is there any way to avoid making this check on every single request, perhaps by caching the result for 24 hours or something?

  • I’d like to know as well. Just shut down my admin. Had to deactivate all the plugins and activate one by one until I find the culprit.

    Now I cant activate it back up. Just spins and gives me a 404 page not found.
