I found out why ??

This jetpack plugin basically overwrite any shortcode that it finds to use their own one. That’s nice of them. Can’t find an option to disable this. I’m going to write a post on the forum about it. I will put the link here, so you can show some support.

UPDATE:
You can disable jetpack shortcode options but it will disable all wordpress.com shortcodes.
(in your dashboard, click jetpack on the sidebar, click deactivate on the Shortcode Embeds box)

Is there a way of getting a fix for this. We have deactivated soundcloud plugin buit would really like to use it.

I am not so sure that disabling all WordPress shortcodes is a good idea if your using other plugins that rely on them. That’s opening a can of worms. Correct me if I am wrong?

I contacted the people from jetpack to find a solution. I’m currently thinking about a solution but it’s quite tricky.

It’s not really disabling all wordpress shortcode, it’s just disabling the shortcode that comes with jetpack.

You could also hack the jetpack plugin. It’s very simple to do, it’s just commenting one line. I will post it how to tomorrow. The only only thing is when there an update on jetpack you will have to do it again. It’s really a minor hack.

I just want to add my confirmation that WordPress Jetpack prevents Soundcloud tracks from displaying properly.

It looks like Jetpack is now compatible with the soundcloud-is-gold plugin after the new soundcloud html5 release. I have them running together on my wordpress installation. It won’t display at first when i had the standard flash player selected, but worked with no issues once i switched it to the new html5 player. No need for any hacks.

Greetings! I’ve upgraded to the latest WP, Jetpack, and SoundCloud Is Gold release. I’ve switched to the new HTML5 player. Unfortunately, unless I disable Jetpack, all I get is “This track is currently not available.” (and, for some reason, the Flash player is used). OTOH, if Jetpack (the latest one) is disabled, everything works perfectly (and with the HTML5 player).
