[Plugin: SSH SFTP Updater Support] I have to re-upload the authkey each time

The latest SVN now uses HTML5’s localStorage to save the key if it’s been copy / pasted.

It’ll save it on a per browser basis so if you use another browser on another computer you’ll need to re copy / paste the key.

v0.3 is the old code. To get the latest you’d need to update your plugin to the latest SVN version. If you don’t know how to use SVN (or don’t have it installed or whatever) you can replace the contents of your sftp.php with this:

Thank you. I did this, but when I tried to upload, I couldn’t copy the file—kept getting an error message about “expected handle.” Maybe I’ll just wait patiently for the new official version ??

Does it give you a line number?

I’m not going to make a new official release unless I’m sure the feature is working for people.

No luck with the zip. I can upload it to the remote server, but when I try to unzip it, it unzips to a TemporaryItems folder on my local machine.

Here’s the error message I get when I try to copy ANY file from my local computer to the remote server:

Expected handle: /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/ssh-sftp-updater-support/”/Users/xxxxxx/Sites/yyyyyyy/wp-content/plugins/ssh-sftp-updater-support/readme.txt” “readme.txt”

I can wait for the official update if the solution isn’t immediately obvious.

Sounds like it’s not a problem with this plugin so much as it’s a problem with your (S)FTP client..

Would you be willing to send me ([email protected]) an email with your hostname, username and password (or private key) and I can upload the files myself?
