As mentioned in my post in the resolved topic, the plugin is still broken in 4.3. When selecting “Text” mode, the editor does not display. Only workaround is selecting “Text” then selecting “Publish” or “Update” so the page reloads and HTML editor loads.

Using Chrome web dev tools, looks like there’s an error coming from hesh.min.js that reads:
Uncaught TypeError: switchEditors.switchto is not a function

Looks like something changed in 4.3 and that function is not compatible with it?

Love the plugin. Keep up the good work!

  • The plugin is still broken right? It was working, but I just updated to 4.3 and now I get the javascript error.

I think there are 2 bugs.

Steps to reproduce it (I also disabled all other plugins):
    1. Open “edit post”
    2. Change a few lines in the visual editor
    3. Switch to Text mode
    4. Switch to Visual mode

In step 3 you see that the changes you made in the visual editor are not in the text editor -> bug 1

When you wait for a few mins in the step 4 you get an javascript error: hesh.min.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘clientHeight’ of null

This is causing a lot of problems because when I change something in Visual mode and switch to the Text editor all my changes made in the Visual editor are lost.

Please fix this. I can give you access to my test-site if you can’t reproduce it yourself.

For now I disabled the plugin. Too bad, because this plugin WAS useful…

    Cheers!

Oi, that’s no good. I never lost changes switching between Text and Visual mode.

It’s been working fine for me after clearing cache and reinstalling the plugin. Did you try that?

Nope, no cache. I even reproduced this bug on a clean install.

Is this plugin still maintained? Does someone know a similar plugin?

Could it be a theme collision? I am using Genesis Exec Pro.

As I said. I have this problem on my live website and I also have this bug with a clean install on a different server with only this plugin enabled.

Check this gif. When I remove text, it is still there when I switch to text mode: https://i.imgur.com/zTg71J3.gifv

Dries863, you may not be getting the attention you want because you committed an internet faux pas – you hijacked a thread by changing the topic. Maybe try posting your bug in a new thread.

Haha, you might be right gbell12. Thanks for the advise!

Hi, did anyone manage to get a fix for this?

I’ve had the same disappearing text editor since I’ve updated to 4.4.

I made a new thread for the problem but haven’t received a reply yet; I was wondering if anybody has come across a solution, or an alternate plugin please?

I love this plugin, but have had to deactivate it at the moment.:(
