This will block, them but it would also block runners.com

I will add a box to block just the TLD part of a domain for the next release, although this may be drastic. Although, I can see where a local site might not want to see comments from out-of-towners.

I have a plugin that I wrote that blocks countries by looking up the IP address. It was a long list that slowed down wordpress so I never released it. I should resurrect that as a separate plugin.

Why would blocking .cn and .ru also block .com’s?

It might look for the .RU part of the domain and find that in https://www.RUnners.com

I am working on it. The current version of the code has lots of experimental stuff in it so it needs some time to work out the bugs.

I will run it for a week or two and see if anything new breaks.

This allows blocking by TLD (.cn, .ru, .xxx, etc.) among other things.
