• I was wondering what it would take to include a check for current users in your users database? A way to allow a mass clean up of user accounts distinguishing good accounts from bad ones.

Ideally you could go to the user’s page in the dashboard and click a simple check users button which would then compare each user’s name/email address against the database. It would then display all those that come back with a hit so you can pick/choose which of those to delete.

Alternatively, it could work like you do for comments, where an option pops up under each user to check them.

    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Would love to see this feature. Have about 4500 users and I am sure a good amount are spam.

This would be a great Feature!!!

Just installed this great plugin and this is exactly the feature I’m missing. ??

I have a separate plugin to do this. It is not ready for prime time. I does mass checks, reporting and deletes on the users.

I have to add lots of code to make it user friendly right now, but it will be available when I can get to it.

User registration cleanup would be an excellent feature. Have 4K+ user accts. I suspect over half are spam accounts.

Unfortunately, WordPress does not record the IP address of the users. I would love it if in some future version of WP if they would record last login ip.

Without an IP I can’t be really sure if someone is a spammer. Some spammers use legitimate user’s emails so it is not safe to delete someone based on email.

Keith, Thanks for the follow-up. Will install your plug-in, and do another manual purge of the User database (sigh), and then see how your plug-in works.
