• I installed the BP Activity Reloaded plugin as an alternative to the rtMedia plugin.
It worked perfectly at first and I continued to with a couple of other very minor site mods.

However, I discovered this AM that it no longer works, saying simply “There has been an error processing your request”

It is very odd because everything from disabling all plugins except this one and BuddyPress does not fix it, nor can I find a backup that works – and one of the should have. Same result with every theme including 2019. The site is running WP 5.6

I’ve cleared cookies and caches and switched browsers too, but to no avail.

    Any suggestions?

    Janet

Update: This appears to be an issue within the WP Engine network.
As I understand this plugin, the handling of a URL is very different from other browser activity. The browser passes a URL to the PHP code, which FROM THE SERVER, makes a request for the URL preview and returns that data to the browser. The rtMedia plugin broke in a similar manner.

Together, WP Engine and I have seen the problem come and go without any changes to the site. We’re trying to figure out what type of server limit we are tickling and will update further.

Hello. Any updates on this issue? I’m experiencing the same issue.

I will add that always on the first try I get the same error (“There has been an error processing your request”). But it loads on the second try.

Update: I just rolled back to version PHP 7.3 and it worked again. Hopefully the devs will come up with a solution on the next update

    Clarification please!

Is this plugin not compatible with PHP 7.4???

    Thanks!
