Plugin stopped working

  • Hi, This plugin has been working fine up until few weeks ago.. When I complete the fields not the contact form on the page listed above, there is an error saying there is a problem with one or more fields. It’s almost like it is not recognizing any of the answers.
    I checked debug log, and I see this message: for all files for your plugin:

    My initial thought was that the hidden _wpcf7cf fields wouldn’t be submitted, but that seems fine.

    The only thing left I can think of is that another plugin or theme is interfering with the plugin. Could you follow these steps https://conditional-fields-cf7.bdwm.be/docs/troubleshooting/does-not-work-with-a-third-party-theme-or-plugin/ and report back here?

    I will run the test tomorrow, but just so you know, we have been using this plugin for a while now, and have not installed any new plugins. But I will test it again. I have submitted a ticket for you before, that we have been getting email notifications with error:
    An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 291 of the file /homepages/45/d648758106/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/cf7-conditional-fields/wpcf7cf-options.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’

    This error email is showing that the site is running on an old php version (which we confirmed both on WordPress site and in the hosting panel, that the php version is 7.4. But I have a feeling that error may be somehow involved with this issue, because the timing seems right. I will let you know what my test results are. Do you have a support email I can send the information too, so it’s easier to communicate that way?

    @jules-colle Just wanted to give you an update, that to run all of the tests I migrated the website to a test server (with a different hosting company), and the issue is not happening there. So I think this may have something to do with the existing hosting company and their severs. I submitted ticket with them.
    This error is still coming up for me in the debug log, but the Contact Form 7 itself is actually not working on the existing site, so it is not just your plugin. I will let you know if I need help with anything else from you. If you have any other suggestions on what else I can do to test this, let me know. The hosting company doesn’t seem to be very eager about this ticket, so I don’t even know if they will be able to help me or now.. We will see.

    Can you confirm that you are getting these warnings on a fresh WP installation without any other plugins installed except for CF7 and Conditional Fields?

    @jules-colle Unfortunately I don’t have an option to test it in the same server on the fresh WP installation without other plugins.

    In that case, can you confirm that you get these errors when you disable all plugins (except CF7 and conditional fields) and if you switch to a default theme?
