I’m trying to set up a community site where people can post information to a page without them needing to be a registered user, so anyone can submit a form by providing name and email address (which is approved by moderator before being published. I’m using TDO Mini Forms for the forms which allows me to have forms submitted by non-registered users. I’d like to have the people that post to the site receive email notifications when a comment is added to their post, and this seems to be where I see inconsistent results.

Can anyone confirm that having the “Subscribe Authors” option does this (i.e. the email address that submits the post automatically gets comments, even if they are not a registered user)? When I started testing, I thought when I would do a test post with my email address, I started receiving emails when I left test comments. When I posted subsequent test posts, I’m not receiving any notification to my email address when comments are submitted to that post.

Ideally, what I want is the person that submitted the post automatically gets emailed comments to that post.
Commentors have the option to subscribe to receive comments (I have this marked by default). I believe this is working, where commentors will receive notifications when other comments are posted.

I’m wondering if it’s possible for these notifications to get into a bad state, as I am just using a few test accounts repeatedly.

    thanks,

    Hi Camu,

First off, thanks for making and supporting such a fantastic plugin! I’d like to make a donation if possible and have sent through a message through your site to secure details.

STCR works great except for one thing; I can’t get it to send comment notifications to the original author even though I’ve ticked the box. I suspect it might have something to do with my using Gravity Forms to process post submissions but would be very much appreciative if you could take a look. I’d be happy to pay a reasonable cost for your time. Please just respond to my message via your website.

Many thanks and Happy New Year!
