[Plugin: Subscribe2] Make sure subscribers get full post vs. excerpt

  • How do I make sure that all subscribers are getting the full post instead of an excerpt? I can’t seem to fine any setting for this.

    Only Registered Users / Subscribers can choose the full post option. It is not possible for Public Subscriber in the code you download.

    For Registered Users, you can bulk change them by filtering on Registered Users or Registered Subscribers at Tools->Subscribe2 and then using the Bulk Update Format section at the bottom of the screen.

    Perhaps I am just way too new to this…what is the difference between registered and public subscribers? Right now we just have the widget on the home page for people to subscribe at.

    It’s true that there is no UI for this, but only one line needs to be edited to change the default behaviour. Here’s a patch for 6.3:

    Yes. The code is open source and you are free to make your own changes or improvements.

    The solution you’ve posted will indeed send full content to Public Subscribers by default but it will also send full content to any Registered Subscriber who has asked to get an excerpt.

    Still, of you don’t have any Registered Subscribers that won’t be a problem.
