    I’ve been using subscribe2 for a few years with no problem, but it now slows my sites to a crawl. I’ve deactivated and reactivated all plugins, and it’s definitely subscribe2 that’s causing the problem. WordPress and subscribe2 are up to date. Anyone else having the problem and/or know the fix? I don’t want to lose all these subscribers by moving to a new subscription plugin. Thanks!

  • @ldraper,

    Are you using Subscribe2 in per post or digest mode? Bear in mind that in per post mode it is trying to send the emails immediately as you publish. On slower servers with lots of traffic this can really hit performance. It might be worth upgrading your hosting or at least speaking to your provider.

    Thanks for your help — per post, but there’s only one post per week, and the server is a dedicated one with only a few WP sites on it.

    I take it I’m the only one who’s seeing this lately? I haven’t had the problem using the subscribe2 plugin prior to this… about two weeks ago.

    Thanks,

    @laree,

    This isn’t a frequent complaint, clearly something has happened in the last 2 weeks that has had an effect on your site and server.

    Have a check of the sites that are pinged at the time you make a post and ensure there is no duplication or attempts made to ping closed down services.

    Also, I’d still suggest you speak to the hosting provider, maybe they change some configuration in the last 2 weeks and that might need investigation.

    Okay, thanks again. I’ll keep sorting it out.
