[Plugin: Subscribe2] Sending out email every 8 seconds

This is not possible with subscribe2. How does your host implement the restriction? Is it literally checked as one email every 8 seconds?

Are you allowed to send emails via SMTP with authentication to relax this restriction?

I just found out HostGator (my host) has a 500 email per hour sending limit during the off peak times of 1am to 8am PST. Would your system trip this limit?

If you have 1000+ subscribers then you will exceed the limit imposed by HostGator.

You could try using the paid Amazone-SES service with the WP-SES plugin as this will push your emails via Amazon’s paid service. Or there’s WordPress Mail Queue to stagger the email sending.

It seems my best bet is to move to a VPS type hosting account as they don’t have these email limits.
