    Matty,

    That seems to have done it!

    Now https://douglerner.net/?p=2402 displays correctly via the web AND just sends out the YouTube URL via plain text and HTML mail.

    Great!

    I would like the version that does HTML/multi-part email to everybody, not just registered users. After I purchase that, should I make the same change in that version?

    Thanks!

    @doug,

    That’s great! It seems that a lot of email clients do not support the iframe tag (which is used for these embeds) so I’ll have a think about whether this should go into the core for the free and HTML versions.

    If you are buying the HTML version then make these amends to the current and then upload the code.

    Matt,

    There was one combination of something where what Jetpack notifications sent out displayed an embedded video in Mac Mail. But it didn’t display as anything in Gmail or other mail clients.

    So I think you’re right that in most clients this cannot not display, and this change is probably the safest for all clients.

    Thanks again,

    @doug,

    I’m inclined to agree, the more I think about it the more sensible I think it will be to remove that filter before the Subscribe2 code prepares the email content. I’ll get that patched in the next version so you should not need to make and code file changes.

    Matty,

    So… I should wait before downloading…?

    Thanks,

    @doug,

    I’ve seen your posts on the HTML version forum so I guess you didn’t wait! ??

    I figured I could always upgrade. ??
