    Hello,

I love your plugin, very simple to use.
But for some reason, I think it’s the last WordPress update perhaps? (not sure)
    this plugin stopped working.

So no i have the Our [total_user_count role=”subscriber”] subscribers in plain text.

    Not sure what’s going on.

    Can you advice?

    Thank you

    Love,
    Amy

    Hi Amy,

I have a feeling that the text area you have placed the shortcode in is not running shortcodes.

Could you make sure the plugin is active, then try to add the shortcode onto a blank page and see if that works?

That should give us an indication if it’s the placement at fault.

    Thanks!
    Morgan

Wow, Morgan! You are fast ??

thank you, I’ve put it on a new page and it’s working partially..

this is what is has in the oage:

    Our [total_user_count role=”subscriber”] subscriber
    [total_user_count]! subscribers

    And the result is this:
    Our N/A subscribers
    434! subscribers

You can check it here: https://www.safeunderdark.com/test/

it did work previously on another theme, but it stopped working there as well..

I’ve check “Subscribers” even changed the “subscriber” to “Subscriber” with no effect.

I hate to be a pain in the butt..

I will check the other settings, too see what the outcome is..

    Love,
    Amy

    Wait a minute!

    I think I got it..

the location does not honor shortcode, simple but okay, got that..
Now why doesn’t the ‘subscriber’ work on the page?

    look here:
    Look at the difference..
    [total_user_count role=”Subscriber”] subscriber
    [total_user_count role="subscriber"] subscriber

The bottom one is working, top one is not..

    why? Look at the quotes..
top one is copied from the plugin example page (in WordPress),
bottom one is copied from the webpage..

code from the webpage works ??

you can still see it on the test page: https://www.safeunderdark.com/test/

Now I only have to work out where I can put it in my new theme.. ??

    Thank you for your help
You pointed me in the right direction ??

    Thank you
    Love,
    Amy

Good spot Amy! ?? WordPress only likes straight quotes for shortcodes. Sometimes browsers will convert them to incorrect curly quotes, it’s rather annoying.

Good luck with finding a nice spot for the shortcode in your theme. You can always as ask the theme developer if there’s a way to allow shortcodes to run in the previous location.

    Thanks!
