Plugin suggestions for bulk photographer

I’ve got a client that’s a photographer looking to update her site. It’s kind of a different situation that’s hard to Google. She photographs about 5 schools with 5000+ students. Needs gallery areas with some security and ordering capabilities. Anyone have any experience with a prebuilt solution or know of one that’s extensible to meet her need?
