Plugin suggestions for client area with individual downloads

Hi, I’m setting up a site for an insurance company that wants to have a client area for registered users where a specific user can download their specific documents (such as policies, guides, etc.), receive specific notifications, and see their purchase history.

So I’m looking for the right plugin to do it. right now I have seen membership plugins that allow to restrict content depending on role, but I’m not sure that is scalable.

I want basically two things.

– Individual files download for each users (I should be able to upload the documents for each user).
– A Nice user interface for client area
– Account managmenet (change password, name, etc.)

What would you suggest?
